Project Overview:
Mockingbird IV is a study in scale, balance, and timeless simplicity — a home that marries sculptural architecture with the quiet beauty of the desert. Defined by gabled rooflines, natural stone walls, and vertical wood siding, the exterior composition creates a sense of permanence and place. A long water feature guides visitors through a lushly planted entry sequence, where mature olive trees and layered gardens soften the building’s strong lines.
Inside, floor-to-ceiling glass walls dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, framing views of the landscape and flooding the home with natural light. The layout is centered around a sprawling outdoor living environment — a resort-style pool, expansive lounge areas, and fire features — all designed to extend daily life outdoors and make entertaining effortless.
The restrained palette of stone, wood, and concrete grounds the architecture in its natural surroundings while giving the spaces a timeless, enduring quality. Every element — from the rhythm of the façade to the layering of materials and the placement of planting — was carefully considered to create a residence that feels both contemporary and deeply connected to the land.
